Baroque Sicily Tour
Cycling through the baroque beauty of the UNESCO South East Sicily.
Imagine a bike tour through Baroque villages, where grand churches and palaces feature stone decorations that resemble intricate embroideries. Southeast Sicily was rebuilt in the Baroque style after the devastating 1693 earthquake that struck this region. Despite the tragedy, this event led to a remarkable concentration of UNESCO World Heritage monuments in the area. Culture, architecture and history to be experienced by bicycle throughout the Sicilian tour.
This entire region served as the setting for the TV series “Il Commissario Montalbano,” based on Andrea Camilleris novels, and also provided the backdrop for Giuseppe Tornatore’s “L’uomo delle Stelle.” Biking along the serene countryside roads offers an opportunity to reconnect with yourself.
