Welcome to Lecce!

Arrive independently in Lecce, called also as “Florence of the South”, easily accessible by train. Private transfers from Bari airport are available upon request. Your accommodation is a comfortable hotel or family-run boutique B&B in a historic palace in the center of Lecce. Bike delivery and fitting will be arranged at your accommodation.

DAy 2

Out of Lecce and straight to the heart of Salento.

DISTANCE: 32 miles (54 km)
ELEVATION GAIN:  1016 ft (310m)

Your leisurely Puglia bike tour starts in Lecce, cycling to the fortified village of Acaya, then towards the sea through Le Cesine wetlands. Pass Roca Vecchia and continue along the jagged coastline to Otranto, ending with a panoramic coastal road.

DAy 3

Loop Ride: Tiny Inland Villages and Panoramic Coastal Road.

DISTANCE: 21 miles (36km)

Rather than taking it easy at the pool, this morning you have the chance to embark on a beautiful loop ride to Castro, a charming seaside village. From there, you can choose to return along the coastline or follow our inland route through quiet villages.

Day 4

Towards south

DISTANCE: 25 miles (42km)
ELEVATION GAIN: 1804 ft (550m) 

The route from Porto Badisco to Gagliano del Capo starts with a quiet inland path bordered by dry stone walls, passing the Zinzulusa Grotto and the beautiful Santa Cesarea. It leads to the southern tip of the Italian peninsula, offering stunning coastal views and picturesque landscapes.

Day 5

Loop ride on the De Finibus Terrae (Italy’s ‘Land’s End’).

DISTANCE: 35 miles (58km)

Today’s varied ride takes you from Gagliano del Capo through Barbarano del Capo and Gemini to the coast at Fontanelle and Torre Mozza. Continue along the sea to Santa Maria di Leuca, visiting the iconic lighthouse and basilica at Italy’s ‘Land’s End,’ before returning to Gagliano del Capo.

Day 6

To Gallipoli

DISTANCE: 30 miles (50km)
ELEVATION GAIN: 656 ft (200m) 

Today’s flat route to Gallipoli is easy and enjoyable. Enjoy inviting beaches and coastal villages, stopping at Baia Verde for a swim. In Gallipoli, explore the Old Town, connected by an arched bridge to the mainland. The city’s historic walls and towers add a unique charm and protection.

Day 7
Back to Lecce

DISTANCE: 31 miles (52km)

Your last ride of this bike trip in the very south of the Apulia region takes you back to Lecce along a flat route. Consider stopping in Galatina to visit the stunning gotic Basilica di Santa Caterina d’Alessandria, known for its beautiful frescoes, and maybe taking the train from Galatina station to Lecce to shorten the ride.
